Adult Sunday Education Ministry at the church includes a broad range of opportunities. The strength of any given educational program is largely determined by the extent that a person commits themselves regularly to the task of allowing God to speak to you through the curriculum offered.

The Disciple Bible Study series has been a mainstay of our adult ministry. Small groups have been a foundation of not only our educational ministries for adults but also for friendship, support, and fellowship. In our “giving” of ourselves to such groups, we “en-act” faith; faith being another word for trust. Jesus calls us to have “faith,” en-act faith in our lives. Meeting new people, getting involved in each others lives are “real” ways of getting involved.

Adult education includes reading and discussing challenging books on familiar topics like the Commandments, or the Sacraments, Baptism and Eucharist. Adults also expand these reflection times to mission activity. The goal of the adult education ministry is to nurture and develop, create reflective and mature Christian people who then participate in “making disciples” themselves.

Sunday 10:00 am

EDEN Eve We eat dinner together from 6:00-6:30, followed by fellowship. Our class runs from 7:00-8:00 and usually deals with current issues that teens face. This is a very relaxed environment and we change the curriculum every EDEN session.

Thursday 5:45 pm

Companions in Christ is a long-term sharing group that introduces you to spiritual disciplines such as prayer and varied ways to read the Bible. Meetings last for one and a half hours. Check with the church office or the website calendar for the next session of Companions.

I am with you always

The Ascension of Christ is celebrated 40 days after Easter. It focuses upon the ascent of Christ into heaven shortly before Pentecost.

The Ascension is important to Christians because it reminds us that while Christ’s human body could not be present everywhere, Christ’s spiritual presence can be experienced universally. St. Matthew’s gospel tells us Christ’s last words to his friends were, “Remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20, NRSV). And so Christ is!
