Children's Education

Children's Sunday School
Our children's Sunday school is divided into five age levels and each class is designed so that it is relevant to that age level. The Bible is taught in creative ways so that children receive the foundation for a life long faith in Jesus Christ.
The class divisions are as follows:
Babies and Toddlers meet in Room 98 and use Gospel Light's "Baby Beginnings" Curriculum.
Preschoolers (ages 3-5) meet in Room 103 and use Gospel Light's "Preschool" Curriculum.
Kindergarteners through 1st Graders meet in Room 102 and use Gospel Light's "Prime Time" Curriculum.
2nd through 3rd graders meet in Room 104 and use Gospel Light's "iExplore" Curriculum.
4th through 5th graders meet in Fellowship Hall and use Abingdon's "Live It! for Tweens" Curriculum.

Nursery
Our nursery and toddler rooms are staffed with caring and fun individuals who enjoy being with children. Each Sunday our staff works hard to create a safe and nurturing experience. We know that leaving your infant can be overwhelming. The staff will work with you and your child to make their first experiences at church happy ones.
If your child has a need while you are in service, we will activate the pager you are given when you sign your child in.
The staff enjoys teaching and watching children grow as they learn how God made them so special through short Bible stories, songs, and easy crafts. In this way, they work to create a safe and fun experience. The doors will open 15 minutes prior Sunday Morning 9am worship service and care is offered until 12pm when traditional worship is finished.
All of our staff go through a detailed screening, background check and adhere to the Willoughby Hills United Methodist Church’s Child Protection Policy.
To make the transition a smooth one, please supply us with the following:
Please bring bottles, diapers and any special cuddlies that will help to soothe your baby during the morning. Please be sure to label all of your children’s items.
Please complete the sign in sheet with your name, your child’s name and your pager number.
Please make staff aware of any known allergies and/or other health concerns.
We look forward to meeting you and your child!
